How Do You Do A Yoga Sequence?
The best way to start in yoga is to do each pose with steady breathing in appropriate manner. Place both hands on the floor in front of you, feet on the floor with the knees together. Lift your buttocks up off the floor so you are balanced on your pelvis. Breathe in, and with the next breath, bring your hands under your back so your fingers meet in the middle. If you have a bolster or pillow, place the bolster under your lower back. Then place your arms so they are parallel with the ground. Make sure your shoulders are relaxed and fingers turned up. This will be your starting position. Inhale, raise your torso up by moving the sternum up. Keep the elbows bent and draw the shoulder blades into the back. Take three or five breaths this way. Exhale, and lower your torso back to the starting position. Repeat, aiming for three sets of nine repetitions..
