How Do You Meditate Silently?

I am not a particularly experienced meditator, but I do like to meditate as much as I can. I would like to share one of my favorite techniques with you. It is hard for me to say how effective it is, as I can’t measure it, but I find it enjoyable and relaxing. To begin, sit in a comfortable position. I like to sit on the floor, assuming the ‘lotus’ position. It is a good idea to have a cushion underneath you. I like to take a moment to set a intention. I usually think how I want to feel upon not opening my eyes. The one thing I have noticed that that intention is very important. Next, just close your eyes, and start breathing deeply. In through your nose, out through your mouth. It is a good idea to focus on your breathing. If something pops into your head, just let it go, and return to your breaths. The one thing I have noticed about this meditation is that your focus always returns to your breathing. I hope you can use this to meditate silently..
