A good measure of how much sleep you need is by asking yourself about whether or not you have been functioning at a high level during the day. If you feel alert, refreshed, and able to concentrate throughout the day without experiencing grogginess or irritability, then it is likely that your sleep requirement is being met.

If there are days where I am sluggish or apathetic for an extended period of time though, it’s probably because I didn’t get enough rest and my body needs more opportunities to repair before continuing on with regular day-to-day activities.
