Having a sound sleep means that you get enough hours of undisturbed and uninterrupted sleep. For example, having a sound sleep for 8 hours straight. The body utilizes different phases of sleep: REM (dream) and Non-REM stages 1-4. Every phase takes up about 25% of your regular 7 to 8 hour period; Deep Sleep takes up about 50%.
